TATTOOS * BODY PIERCING * SURFACE/DERMAL ANCHORS * BRANDING

I have been piercing full-time since 1999. In 2002 my family and I opened Dead RockStar in Fargo. In 2006 I attended my first Association of Professional Piercers (APP) educational conference and in 2007, I became North Dakota’s first member of the APP. I have been attending the APP’s annual conference every year since 2006.
The annual APP conference offers a wide variety of classes that relate to all things body piercing and is an excellent way to further my education and “sharpen” (that pun is very much intended) my piercing skills. It’s also a great opportunity to talk with other piercers from all over the world and swap stories, trade techniques and experiences.
Here are some of the topics/classes I have taken over the years:
Aesthetics of Body Piercing Fundamentals of Free-hand Piercing Freehand Piercing vs Forceps Advanced Oral Techniques Stretching Surface Piercings Surface Anchors Basic Female Genital Piercings Safe and Effective Female Genital Piercing Oral Anatomy Basic Male GenitalPiercings Male Genital Piercing Techniques Body and Facial Anatomy Large Gauge Surface/Genital Piercing Head and Neck Anatomy Client Home Care Aseptic Technique Aftercare Medical Risk Assessment Jewelry Glass Precious Metals and Gemstones Advanced Medical Risk Assessment
I am CPR certified, First-Aid certified and well educated in Bloodborne Pathogens (as they relate to the body modification industry). I am an advocate of safe practices and educate people about safe practices of body modification. I have given presentations and interviews to numerous healthcare personnel, nurses, ER staff as well as various colleges in the Fargo-Moorhead area about safe practices of body modification. I have also contributed to A.P.P. literature and research.
I do all types of piercings and really enjoy doing corsets, surface anchors, and surface projects. I am always up for a challenge and am continuously looking for a new piercing and/or technique to do. I love what I do and I enjoy sharing experiences with my clients.
In 2004 I learned how to do body branding and am the only professional in the sate of North Dakota to offer this service. Though there are many ways and styles of body branding, I mainly practice thermal cautery style branding.
Branding is not for everyone; it is nowhere near as painful as one may expect. If you have been burned by a cigarette or from cooking (grease burns) then you have experienced a more painful burn than what a brand feels like.
